River
Yare Village Directory
Norwich
Bars & Restaurants: Too many to mention.
Extensive fee pay moorings are available at the Yacht Station
which are a short walk from the city centre. Unfortunately,
the proximity to the "clubs" of Norwich make overnight
mooring less desireable between Thursday and Sunday nights.
Shops: No shortage of retailers
in the city centre.
Local Attractions: The cathedral,
Pulls Ferry, the castle and the outdoor market place
are all worth a visit.
Thorpe Green
Bars & Restaurants: Three public houses on the riverbank,
all with gardens. The Town House, (www.pub-explorer.com/norfolk/pub/townhousethorpenorwich.htm)
The Rivergarden and The
Rushcuttters (www.pub-explorer.com/norfolk/pub/rushcuttersarms.htm) have
extensive menus and offer free moorings for patrons.
Shops: A few local shops. Major supermarket within a mile,
but a long way to walk back with your shopping.
Local Attractions: The fine city of Norwich is a short distance
away and can be reached by bus if you do not
want to moor at the Yacht Station within the city itself.

Woods End Inn. Beautiful
setting on a bend in the river. Good sized menu. Free moorings

menu with plentiful free moorings. The
Lavendar House restaurant
(www.thelavenderhouse.co.uk) is a short walk into the village.

a chemist and a doctor
Rockland:
Bars & Restaurants: The New Inn. Located at the end of
a narrow dyke joined to pretty Rockland Broad, which in turn

The Kings Head, The Swan and The
Angel (turn left up the main
street from the free moorings) or

White Horse. (Turn right
from the free moorings). All provide good choice menus.
